6000k is really blue, up close and far away. They LOOK bright when you look into them. When you are sitting in the car they are not as bright. They are for show only.

I recommend McCulloch as their stuff is very high quality. If you've seen their kits next to other kits pieced together from Phillips or other components you'll see a big difference in quality. They also sell 7000k replacement bulbs.

A while back I saw a picture of an NSX and it had HIDs' that looked brighter than the S2000s'. Where can I get some with the greenish tint on it? For some reason I love that look and would love to see it on my S....

The higher the Kelvin rating, the closer it is to sunlight is nonsense. I'm pretty sure that was just a brain fart.
Phillips and Osram are the only OEM suppliers for HID bulbs. They make 4100K bulbs and Phillips makes 6000K Ultinon bulbs. German-made. All that 8K is junk.
There's a reason why BMW, Audi, Honda, Phillips, whatever engineers went with 4100K bulbs for all automobiles. I don't care to list them because I don't know all the reasons, but I'm sure some of it has to do with what the human eye has grown accustomed over the two years or so that we've inhabited this lovely planet so if you're driving and you're blinging with 8000K-9000K barney lights, you're fatiguing your eye as well as getting less lumens out there in front of you which totally defeats the purpose of xenon lighting. Danger danger.
Stick with the original makers and you'll be otay. Don't go rice and look for purple in vain. For more info, read up at hids4less.com.

A huge danger from these blue lights is the loss of depth perception. The human eye needs shades of yellow to accurately judge depth at night. Years ago at Lake Placid they used mercury vapor lights to illuminate the bobsled runs at night. Many sledders went off the course (literally) until this fact was discovered and they switched to the yellowish sodium lighting. Now we have HID lights that produce a balanced white light. You will usually see either these or the high pressure sodium bulbs used for highway illumination. Blue light also causes a myriad of health problems. Lights are for seeing, not be seen. Even though the lumens produced may be less, bluish light is perceived as brighter, thus you get everyone flashing you all the time.

I still drive my Integra no S2k for me YET! I've done tons or research into HID's and light output. The reason the s2k, TL, CL, 330, A4 all come with basicly 4100K hids is you get the brightest whitest light, which means seeing farther. 5000k or higher and the human eye cant see it. 6000k or up is complete waste, yes from lookin at your car it will look purple but you'll notice decreased visibilty. Dont ruin the one thing all non s2000 owners would kill for which is your lights. I just orded 4500k HID's from LiteSwap.com great place! I should have em by thursday
