Yes I put the bad bulb in the good side and it worked fine. This is how I actually left it and it works perfectly.

By the way, just to give you more detail, when you turn on the hid's at night, you see the hid light up on that side white. The circular lens lights up just like the working side. Its just that when you look at the working side headlight, it kinda blind's you and shines the complete headlight assembly while the other just lights up the white circular lens and doesn't seem to light up the headlight assembly..

Thanks.

So you've either got a bad ballast or a bad ground. I've already posted how you can test for a bad ballast.

Thanks Xviper, Ill check that this friday. How can you check if you have a bad ground. Since Im going to have the bumper off, I would want to check everything so I could know what to do. Also, if the ballast goes bad, wouldn't it just not light up. Both out of the headlight assembly looked pretty similar in the way they lit up...

I suppose you need to eliminate the possibility that your projector lens itself isn't damaged or the bulb just simply isn't mounted inside the housing crooked or some such weird thing like that.
If you switch ballasts and do your test again and you still have an odd balance to the lights, then you'll have to start looking at the lens or the ground. The ground issue can be a nightmare. You'd have to trace all the wires till you found where it gets grounded to the chasis. Then you would have to examine that connection to see if there is corrosion or a break in it. Repair as needed.
A ballast on our cars work similar to the ballast in a fluorescent light fixture. It give the bulb a big "jolt" to get it started. Haven't you seen a fluorescent light that still lights but is somewhat dim and unevenly illuminated? This is along the same principle. In that case, it can be bulb or ballast.

Dont forget, DO NOT touch the bulb with your bare hands.
This is a common misconception.

Fingerprints and oils from your fingers will only cause superheating of the glass and potential rupture of Halogen gas pressurized filament bulbs. D2S HID bulbs are different. HID bulbs will even work fine underwater!

When HID bulbs get old they start getting bluer and bluer (colorshift) and eventually get dim. A bad ballast may not be providing enough current for a full arc through the gas. If both bulbs look the same on the "bad" side then it's the ballast!

I would love to see this. I'm not messing with ya. I'd flip my wig if I saw this.
I think you're right about this whole "don't touch the bulb" thing applying only to halogen type bulbs. Nevertheless, if it were me, I'd still like to keep my mits off something so expensive (just in case).

^^^

The HID bulbs working underwater thing came from my extensive research for the HID projector retrofitting I do over on www.hidplanet.com.

If my ballast aren't working, I have a warranty with fidelity. Do you think they would cover this part. Its not a wear and tear. I would understand the buld but not this. What do you think.

On a side note... When i initially cleared out my headlights, I had a condensation problem for a while. Its finally gone but I did notice that in the ballast, there was some rust on it. Can this cause a problem. Can I fix this some way..

Thanks

Ask them.

Could be. Clean the rust off and check all the wiring connections.
