High mileage and concerns
I've been in the market for another s2k but an AP1. I found a local car that has 180k. Its been Freeway driven all its life. From the pictures and info from the owner the car is in brand new condition, drives like new and has service records. I'm going to go check the car out tomorrow to see if all this is true.
So here are my questions.
If properly maintained, will I still be able to get the revs up for spirited drive? ( I know its a Honda, I have had many and know they are reliable. But this car revs to 9k and is the first production year.)
Do I worry about the axles and chassis?
How reliable will it be as a DD?
Also I'm the kind of guy that like to put a full coil over and wheels on the car, will the mileage affect the car with mods?
If I have overseen anything please post it up. Also I would mainly like a response from people that have high mileage cars, but if you do not have one please offer only factual information. Thanks

My dad and I buy and sell cars a lot, so what I do when I buy a used car is bring a checklist with me.
My checklist is long, composes of almost every little thing you could possible check on a car.
Just make sure:
-all lights/signals are working.
-test all electronical features (i.e. windows, side mirrors, top, radio, cruise control, left radio controls, etc)
-test the horn (added that one to the list when I bought a car, and horn didn't work)
-check tires.
-Obviously test drive the car with windows up and no radio, keep your ears peeled for ANY noises.
-Check the dipstick.
-Check coolant reservoir. (proves how well he maintains his car.)
-Test e-brake.
-Dont be afraid to take it up to 9k for the test drive, if he denies, make him do it.
-At least do a few hard shifts to look for grind/popouts, if he denies, make him do it.
-Test drive the car running through every gear.
-dont forget to test reverse.
-Check to make sure all emergency tools/tires are still there
-look for any pattern of stripped bolts, might mean he replaced a body part. (i.e. the bolts holding the right fender to the chassis are all stripped/different versus the bolts holding the left fender)
-examine tops for rips, outside/inside
-if you have balls, bring a gallon of water with you to pour over the top to make sure there are no leaks and the rain guides are working properly.
My dad has a complete long list, thats all i could type from the top of my head.

Also if you are looking for '00-'01, dont mind about clutch buzz. Thats basically a buzz u can hear and feel through the clutch pedal, usually when you are decelerating at around 2,000RPM-4,000RPM.
My dad made a list just due to the fact, there are many things an average car buyer over looks when he is purchasing a used vehicle. a quick eye scan and test drive isn't enough. inspect everything, and get down and dirty.
