Default high speed turns car changing direction

Hi All,
I had a scare the other day. I hit an exit ramp at a fast speed, with the tach up.It started out fine, the car dug in and held very well. I let off and almost lost control.
I have had lots of sports cars, turbos, both american and imports and have never been so alarmed. I have only had the car a month and wonder if I have an alignment problem. I checked the tires for wear and they look fine,no drift on the highway and no pulling.Has this happened to others?Just semmed wrong to me.

If there was a turn on that exit ramp and you suddenly pulled off the throttle the car will get loose. Feather back on the throttle or better yet, slow down on exit ramps.

Rule #1: Do not lift in a turn. You need a high-performance driving course.

Or, yes, SLOW THE DOWN!

?? You asked a question and we gave you an honest answer. We didn't know you're Mario Andretti's son. If you ask a question here and people answer, don't flame them or people will learn to ignore you fast.

The S2000 is so well balanced in a manner of speaking it can spin like a top. That's why they are giving you that advice. Also bump steer can be an issue. I experienced that for the first time on an entry ramp that was bumpy and I entered it at a fairly high speed. Either way they are both very unsettling feelings. Quite honestly this is a car you must adjust to. It takes time. Several of the early auto tested made comments like, "Finely a car that presents a challenge to drive fast and one that rewards you when you accomplish it."

I don't get this comment. You lifted in a corner. If you lift in a corner you're likely to cause the rear end to get loose, which in many cases results in losing control of the car. You need to get some instruction on how to drive a high performance car if you're going to put yourself in situations like this.

Thanks,That is the help I am looking for! This car is like no other I have had. I seems to enjoy being driven hard like true sports car do. I want to know what they drive like. If thats the nature of the beast I will learn how to adjust for it. I don't want to SLOW down to mask a problem. Thanks again

What other sports cars have you driven that drastic changes in speed while cornering at the limit do not cause you to lose control?

Remembering not to lift is not too hard, but the one to REALLY watch out for is if you enter a corner at about 5800 and as you accelerate through the corner you hit VTEC. This can bring the back around too.
