which exhaust system offers the highest pitch exhaust note? I don't want the boom down load but for it to scream louder as the RPM increases.... thanks

 

most exhausts have the bassy low rpm tone and get screamy as you climb the tachometer. but the ones with the least bass would probably be the HKS, Fujitsubo Legalis R, or Mugen (correct me if i'm wrong). If you don't want bassy down low then the Invidia, Skunk2, and similar models are definitely out.

I would say your best bet is either an HKS Hiper or a Supersprint:

I just picked up an HKS Hiper myself and I'm in love with it. I didn't want a super boomy (ie ricey) sounding exhaust that had an F1/Superbike flair to it and I definitely think I made the right choice with the HKS. Sounds great. Has a bit of a Ferrari like sound to it as the revs climb above 4,000.

I got mine for $640 new, but I have a friend who owns a shop so I got a great deal. I think if you look hard enough you can get them in the $700 range. Sorry I couldn't be of more help - hpopefully someone will chime in with some specifics.

More great things about the HKS:

When I received my exhaust, it was packed extremely well. Box was in superb condition (obviously HKS is very careful when packing and shipping their inventory). Also, the exhaust is a true piece of art. The welds are top notch and the whole exhaust system is very well built. On the car, the exhaust looks agressive, but not overly ricey. I love it!
