I thought the Harley boys called them rice rockets. "Rice" because they came from Japan and "Rocket" because they were a hell of a lot faster than a Harley.

Yeah, the V-Max isn't bad and I do prefer the shaft drive, but I'm still holding out for Honda to make one I like. The ST1300 isn't bad but those damn rear saddle bags have to go. And, it's only a 5 speed, my Sabre is a 6 speed...

Maybe I'll never find one I'm looking for...

I agree with red. I first heard rice burner way back in the mid 60's. Not only Harley guys but also the Triumph and BSA guys used the term. Definitely used as a derogatory statement. No way those guys would have called them rice rockets, too complimentary.

I lost touch, I didn't realize it was still used. Still derogatory in most cases I guess, unless you're into that sort of thing.
