Hit 117mph today, but......
100 mph really is not that fast, 125+ i say is where it starts getting stupid, but you do enough work to your car you will be rolling through the 1/4 at 100+ mph, if oneself is confident enough to drive that fast i feel they are not stupid or crazy, its a part of life, some people feel the need to go fast others don't. I myself have seen 134 mph in my S, ran out of road, but i will say it was a lil scary but fef a thrill, only cause of how fast everything wizzes by you. Later
I hit 125 on some back roads. This is with the hard top on. Aside from the fact that the smoothest pavement at 60 seems rough as hell at 125 is nothing compared to the fact that if you hit a bee or grasshopper at 125 it sounds no different than if it were a rock.
I am not saying going that fast is bad, its doing it with your wife and child sleeping in the car. Take your own life, not someone else's. It is usually the driver who survives an accident and the passengers who die, do you want to be the driver who has to live to deal with that? No thanks, I'll pass on driving those speeds with a child in the car. It is called being responsible.
If you had trouble at high speed with an S, can you imagine how bad it would be in another car? I've had mine up past 140 and it was straight as an arrow. Sometimes road surfaces make a difference as well as the weather and condition of your tires and shocks.

It's my first time driving over 110 mph with my S, although the car was very stable at this speed, I felt the wind resistance was greater than other cars.

My Accord hit 111 (indicated) last night on my way back to Dallas - pretty stable but awfully noisy (mostly tire noise - I have new ones on the way as mine are pretty near bald).
