Vroom. Vroom. Now don't you wish you weren't so anal?

Charlie, I am really sorry to hear that.
I was really worried to see the subject but thankfully the damage is minor.
Still this really bites.
Now I can imagine you are being needlessly more cautious of the rear view of the car which really sucks too.
I know use to always peek the rear view for a bit when I come to a stop and see what the car behind is doing. Now I don't really much doing that, because my car is a mess as is and few dings and minor hits may never bother me.
Hopely you make the right decision of either getting it fixed or do something with the damage compensation.

charlie,

Definitely get the bumper fixed. You'd notice the damage everytime you looked at the car.

I'm sure you're not going to have any problems getting the money form the lady. If you do, you can always send Mr. Pockets after her

Is the paint damaged or just a little ding? You might be able to just pop it out if it's a little ding.

You know life is good when a screw indentation in your bumper makes you lose sleep!

Charlie, I'm the same way. Perfectionism is a disease that I surely wish I didn't have.

nothing worse than getting screwed in the rear by a real estate agent. Sorry Charlie, I couldn't help myself

charlie, sorry to hear about the incident, I hope things are ok. I know my friend s2.01k had the same thing happen to him, he ended up getting a new rear bumper replacement and a new exhaust. Make sure you check the trunk to see if the little well caved in too. Being as anal as I am, I think you should get the bumper repaired/replaced, otherwise, the new exhaust isn't going to be nice enough to distract your eyes from the dent.

In a previous thread, I described the damage to my rear bumper and wondered if it could be repaired. I've gone to a recommended body shop in Laguna Niguel, for an estimate and he said they could repair it, but it ends up being filled. They can heat the bumper cover and get most of it out, but not all. As it turns out, replacing the bumper cover and having it painted is about the same price as the repair. In my case, it's about $500. I called H&A for a price first and they told me about $211, but it's too big to ship via UPS. So I called Weseloh and they gave me the same price and it's local. Sondra, who is your contact and how do they ship the bumper?

By the way, I've been totally bummed since this happened. Can't wait to get it fixed.
