Default Hit rev limiter.... thoughts?

Well I hit the Rev Limiter for first time in my S2k and was thinking well how bad was that. I bounced hard off it to, just got distracted and didnt think was time to shift yet I was thinking it shouldent be too bad since thats why the rev limiter is there but then again bouncing off the last protection before blowing a engine isnt good

Thoughts?

You should be fine, like you said that's what it's there for. I race my prelude on the track and hit the rev limiter all day long. It may be last protection but there is some room to play between rev limit and engine blowing up.

It's good for it. I do it all the time. That's what it's there for. Rock on my brother. No worries.

Have I made myself clear?

Actually, if you hit the rev-limiter your warranty can be voided. The ECU has a counter for each time that the rev limiter is hit. It also has a multiplier based on what gear you're in. E.g., if you're in 4th gear and you hit the rev-limiter, then that counter is incremented 4 times. If you're in 3rd gear and you hit the rev limiter twice, then the counter gets incremented 6 times (3x2). If the counter value is greater than 2, then the dealer will not honor your warranty.

Fortunately, there is a bug in the ECU software. If you hit the rev limiter in Reverse, the counter will actually be decremented. So, if you hit the rev-limiter in 2nd gear, then that means that you need to take the car out (preferably to a big, open parking lot) and stick it in reverse and take her all the way up to 9K RPMs. You'll need to do that twice to get the counter back from 2 to zero. Be careful, because going 35-40mph in Reverse can get tricky.

I take no responsibility for any fool that actually goes out and actually tries this.

I've never heard of the warranty being denied for hiting the rev limiter. I hit mine a lot, and my service manager never mentioned it.

that is some of the most beautifully sculpted bullshit I've seen in a while. and while it may be artistic... in the end, it's just b.s.
