Default Hit and Run (RANT)

(Rant On)

Well guys, today was a sad day for me. Downtown Jacksonville is not a good place to park.

I went to downtown for a short meeting. Parked S2000 on the street (meter) and came out to notice a DENT on the passanger side! Looks like someone back into it.

No damage to the door but the quarter panel behind the door is dent. Thank god no paint damage.

No witness and no note. Taking her to Dent Doctor tomorrow, hopefully they can fix her up 100%

(Rant Off)

PS. I hate this crap. My car is 4 months old!!!!

Sorry to hear that! I hope you get it back in perfect condition.

Not to ask a stupid question, but how can a car back into your passenger side if you're parked on the street?

That sucks, but it more likely that a note will never be found from most accidents. It's hard enough for some people to fess up on the spot. Hopefully the dent doctor can do the good work most have hard about and that your toy will be back to perfect condition.

The same thing happened to me but they dented the front quarter panel (paint damage) and took a chunk out of the front bumper. Cost $2600 (including new headlight) Talk about bad luck. So if feel your pain.

It's sad to see how irresponsible people are these days.

Good luck with the repair.

Now that you mention hit-and-run, it's about time I go fix the cracked paint on my front bumper after someone backed into my car.

Rare M5,

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. If it's any consolation, my parked S2000 was also hit about 4 months after I bought it. The damage was pretty bad - the rear quarter panel and rear bumper were totally gone. To top it off, the repairs sucked, and I'm still trying to get it repaired properly...and the damage itself happened back in December 2002! Hopefully your dent, since there's no paint damage, can be pulled out and repaired easily. Good luck...

Same here. (Condolences) That must make you feel awful, but that's life man.
Hopefully you'll get it fixed with paintless repair people and it'll be back in shape.
You can never be too paranoid as to where you park this car....
Good luck and keep us posted as to how it went.

Thanks guys!

I just got back from the shop and the car is not ready yet. They are taking their time to get her back 100% and I really appreciate them doing so. I told them to take their time to get her back to 100% even meaning taking them more than a day to complete.

I will keep you guys posted.
