Sorry for your loss, a car can be easily replaced.

Take the 13.5k and save your self the hassle and labor.
What insurance company do have if you don't mind me asking?

I had a couple of friends who's cars get totaled backed in the day, and they allowed us to goto the place where it was towed to and remove the stereo. Technically, I'm not sure they have to let you do that, but many places won't mind.
talked to the insurance rep this morning. he's going to allow me to replace my HU with the OEM one.

american national...gave me pretty decent rates because my parents have been with them for a while
