I am looking into a hitch and it seems like Chase Race is out of the picture (Email from Doug saying none in stock and not sure if/when he'll make another batch). I have a buddy who said he got a Uhaul hitch (some years ago) that he didn't have to drill any holes, take off the bumper, etc. The one I'm seeing now from Uhaul is the same Curt hitch that indicates you have to take off the bumper, lower the exhaust, drill holes. I'm wondering if anyone knows of this other, probably older, Uhaul hitch that is essentially a bolt on to the rear frame?
The 1st picture is what is shown on Uhaul website that may be the "older hitch" but when you look at the instillation guide it's essentially the Curt hitch show in the 2nd picture. Any advice would be great! I don't mind doing a little work but I'd rather not drill or remove the bumper and lower the exhaust.
only chase race. it does not require modification of the existing chassis in any permanent way. the hitch is a secure and elegant solution. If he's not willing to make a batch, ask if he'll send you the design specs.
Look for a used one, or make your own using the chase design philosophy.
