I dont look at it this way. Not counting the $2500 exhausts, anyone who can afford an HKS, can afford a Comptech, Invidia, SS, etc etc etc. I bought the HKS because of all of the the exhausts I sampled, the HKS was my favorite.

I guess its a matter of preference. What is a fact however, which no-one will argue, HKS is the best sounding of them all.

 

Bottom line:would you say,both are good quality dual exhaust,pretty qiet,no H.P.loss,average price and good looking???(owner's pref.)
So,you can't go wrong with either one.???

Tell us how it sounds/looks. I had the comptech on my NSX and it was the 2nd best exhaust I ever owned. 1st was the Taitec (only my opinion). On the S, I think the HKS sounds much better than the comptech (just my opinion). As for the poster that said the HKS droned, could it be because he had the v.1 HKS? I don't know if he specified which one he had, but from what everyone is saying that has the v. 2 HKS, they are telling me it does NOT drone. Could it be other mods that make it drone? Or maybe the exhaust was defective? Or maybe it does drone and I may end up selling mine in a few weeks.

I've got the Comptech on my car, and I like it a lot. The sound is simply fantastic, and the fitment could not be better. If I had one improvement to make, they could have made it a little less stock-looking. Bigger tips would help that. I like it over the HKS because the Comptech is full stainless steel throughout. A minor concern, but one nonetheless.

 

Tips are supposed to be 3.5 inches,according to their site.
A liitle bigger than OEM,but I'll try to see if I can fit my 04 oval tips.

 

I think it's a no brainer to get the Comptech but only problem is no one seems to have this exhaust in stock!

What is the best place / price to buy a Comptech for an AP2?

Going to try and weld some different tips on that exhaust possibily....
