I am about to buy the HKS exhaust and was wondering if anyone had any opinions about it. Anyone have it installed? Is it very loud, to the point where it can get abrasive, and did you notice any performance gains? I want the exhaust but am worried that it would be too loud and after awhile it would start to get annoying. Any thoughts?

Do a search and you will find dyno results showing a small performance increase. The exhaust is louder than stock of course, and too loud for me. It sounds nice, though, if you like a noticeable exhaust note.

The appearance is first class, with the stainless end mufflers fitting very nicely. It looks better than the Mugen, imo. The Mugen is 18 lbs lighter, though, and sounds less loud, perhaps "silkier". The weight of the Mugen, and I think its design, seems to give a performance increase as measured on the road.

had an HKS on a Mitsu 3000 VR4. liked it except it rusted out with our local winter salt. Borla is building a beautiful stainless cat back for the S2000. sound is deep and rich at low RPM and positively rips at high RPM. significant weight savings also.

Got it...love it. Would I do it again? Oh yea, over and over again.

Louder, but not obnoxious...beatuful tone from outside the car...Ferrari-esque is what comes to mind...exactly what I think an insane red sportscar should sound like.

Very satisfied customer right here...

But do a search on HKS...lots of stuff about it here...

Neuspeed GB was $545 plus shipping, but I swear never again.

And Clive is right: Neuspeed exhaust = Borla exhaust.

Hi Mingster

What do you mean, "never again"? Don't you like the Borla/Neuspeed exhaust?
