Default hks exhaust

I've been looking into buying exhaust and i've notice some lose horse power some gain very little if any at all...
I recently came across a really good deal for hks hi exhaust and i've been doing searches and most of what i read either then convo falls short or really doesn't answer my question.
Is there any real horse power gain from HKS or do you lose 1-2 hp.
Mostly is there any major complants or is it a overall decent exhaust??
Thank you
Chris

HKS is a very popular exhaust on this site. Fit and finish is good and, unless you are looking for a banshee screamer, the sound gets good reviews. I've search around on this topic quite a bit and most threads point to a minor HP loss but this is true of most duals. The only way to gain appreciable HP is to go to a single.

Being an owner of an HKS, I completley agree. The sound is awesome. Probably one of the best I've heard on this car. My previous exhaust was a screamer and required some mellowing (Bulletproof Top Fuel full TI). The HKS was a nice offset. No hp gains. Maybe even some loss.

Before I bought my HKS, I resarched the crap out of the HKS gain vs. loss argument. In all my searches, I found very few threads that had actual before and after dynos (the only real way to tell). Of those, NONE showed any hp loss at all. And of those people who swore up and down that it loses power, not one of them was able to show a before and after dyno proving it. I was able to find 1 or 2 showing 1-2hp gain.

Despite it all though, 1-2hp gain is well within the margin of error on any dyno, as is 1-2hp loss. So either way, you aren't gaining OR losing anything. Some people on here will have you believe it loses a significant amount of power (10+), and that's simply not true.

You will be gaining amazing sound and losing an insignificant amount of weight (10 lbs, maybe?).

Had the HKS on my car - great sounding exhaust and good weight savings. No idea if I gained or loss power from the exhaust alone because i did a TP, header and catback all at once. Overall car felt smoother and faster.

just make sure you get a straight test pipe to go with it. your car will sound truly amazing. i get countless compliments on how my car sounds, and i've gotten calls from friends asking if i just passed by because they heard a nice sounding car and they recognized it as mine

but you say HKS titanium??? if it's titanium then maybe you're referring to one of the HKS mufflers welded on to a custom pipe? because the HKS exhaust the people in this thread are referring to is the HKS Hi-Power or HKS Hiper dual...

add some pics to make sure.

I read what seemed like a thousand different exhaust reviews when trying to chose and every review I read of the HKS said it sounded awesome. I agree. I love it!! If it does lose 1-2hp, who cares? You are never going to notice 1-2hp when driving. Now if it lost 10+ that would be a different story. If you decide to buy, you will not be disappointed.
