Wassup everyone! Just recieved my exhaust today (friggin beautiful) and I'm wondering if it is smog legal. Cuz one day (of course) I'm gonna have to have something sniff my exhuast to see if it is polluting our poor lil' world. Oh yeah, is Cali's laws different from other states (I know it's stricter). Thanks a lot. Latez

Language & salutations aside...while I'd have to think that there is no difference between the JDM and US versions of the exhaust, you may run into some issues since you don't have a unit without the CARB [Cali(fornia) Air Resources Board] sticker/plate.
Since I don't live in Cali(fornia), I can't tell you what the ramifications are. Probably should have thought of this before ordering.

Oh I guess I forgot that a lot of S owners are mid-aged yuppies. For the slang illiterate, "latez" is a short version of later. If anyone else needs another lesson on ebonics please e-mail me. Other than that the flame is fizzed out here. By the way, does anyone here know if the HKS exhaust is smog-legal. Thanks. Later dude (sarcastic tone). =P

How can it be shorter if it's the same number of letters?!
Hey, I have the HKS exhaust on mine, too. And I don't think it'll have any impact on smog regulations. Even those wacko-nutjobs regulations you guys have in Cali. I can't imagine there would be a smog issue with simply changing the exhaust...
So, peace out...(or something like that)

They don't need carb approval, but a lot of cops in Cal ticket anyways for their lack of knowledge on noise limits or aftermarket parts issues. S2000 shouldn't be a problem with tickets though, since it really doesn't look rice.
