I did the same thing. Replaced the stock mufflers with magnaflows. There is a couple threads warning of cuting out the stock resonator when replaceing just the mufflers. guess you didn't find them. I would see if the guy that did your work can get a resonator put back in. there will still be some drone but not as bad as what you're complaining of.

Do you know any place that would sell any sound-deadening items where I can just walk in? Like a hardware store, Home Depot, Best Buy, etc?
best buy and any car audio store has the stuff in stock.

doing just a little doesn't do any help. you really have to lay it on all over to get real benefits. that's $$$

Atleast on the invidia, when you are in the "drone range", from the outside, it sounds like the exhaust is purring...I LOVE it, just it sucks for me but I don't care to much

Drive around for a couple of days, it gets quieter and you get used to it. If i can get used to the invidia I think you could get used to your mufflers. (but everyone is different)

I heard dynomating the interior reducing interior noise up to 50% since there is no matting between the cabin and the road...just the frame; you could try doing that

Once you do the sparetire well you will see how much cabin improvement you can get. If you love how your car sounds with an agressive exhaust you have to take the steps to make it enjoyable inside the car too.

This LINK is pretty informative about (most of) the different deadening products available. Quietcoat is also a consideration.

dude, put a resonator back on. lots less drone, and crisp's the exh tone. then remove your cat. youll see a big diff. cat causes alot of the drone. i found this out during my recent R&D on my track pipe setups. quite as hell on my car, ran it on boyracers car with cat, horrible. anyways. lates

i agree with the cat comment. I put my cat back on just to see if i could tell the difference in performance between test pipe and cat. it was kinda noticable (butt dyno tends to lie). but what WAS noticeable was the exhaust tone. the testpipe helps to reduce the drone and mellows the tone out. very smooth
However, doesn't that smell bad? I'd be interested in doing so, but want to know how bad the no-cat fumes are... (used to have a '91 cat-less RX-7 and the smell was awful)

Let me know!

I smell nothing with my test pipe, never did. I wish I knew what everyone was talking about. My Invidia is no longer very loud now that I broke it in. Everyone compliments me on it.

LudegarH22A7, how do you like the Si? Why you sell the S?
