Honda brake fluid, or others OK?
I'm bleeding the clutch today. Wondering if I need to go get some Honda brake fluid or if others are ok. Also, I am just going to be getting the air out, not replacing the fluid. So is it ok to mix something like Valvoline with the original Honda fluid?
I wouldn't get DOT4. A quality DOT3 is more than good enough for a clutch. Honda's or any other $1.98 bottle at Autozone.
The Problem with DOT4 is that it is much more Hydroscopic and will absorb more water requiring service more often and is itself more expensive in the first place.
I usually get the Valvoline DOT3 for street car brakes and any clutch fluid changes. I save the ATE Superblue DOT4 for the brakes on the track car.
