Honda S2000 Coupe to debute at the Tokyo Motor Show in October.
Quote from story: First, the Honda S2000 gains a hard top, though who would buy such a coupe when the soft top has such a well-fitting roof is a mystery, and-at last-a glass rear window, is a mystery. The current S2000's ride and road-holding are already so good that it's hard to imagine a sealed shell making any improvement.

I'd buy one if I didn't already have the convertible with hardtop.
I like my hardtop because its rear window is like 4 times larger than the convertible glass window. No blind spots. Also the coupe will most likely be lighter and stiffer.

My dealer told me that one was coming out next MY. I guess that he was right. This is only news if they update the new tintop w/ a newer engine and not the drop top. I don't see that happening... I am more concerned what changes if any are coming to the convertible.
I personally wouldn't have purchased an S2000 if it were only available as a coupe. One of the benefits to me was the idea of a high performance roadster at a good price.
If I wanted a regular high performance car, I'd probably get a WRX STi or something along those lines.

read the latest R&T? has a pic of the s2200 coupe. it looks photochopped, but i would be interested in one.
think about it, 250hp, a little more torque, hopefully, lighter, more rigid, and with trunk space.
it might even handle better.

I bought the car for many reasons but because it's a convertible is at the top of the list.
The fact that it's one of the tightest convertibles ever made just gives me the warm fuzzies.
A coupe with slightly more power and probably more expensive?
Not for me.
