I don't know where you got the 57,000HZ, but honda s2000 is 22,000 Nm/degee.
Only thing surpasses this rigidity for example:
ferrari Enzo, ferrari F50, Lambo Gallardo and not Murcielago, RX-8 (wtf), Mini cooper, Rolls Royce Phantom, VW Golf V GTI, VW Passat and only audi A8 in the entire audi lineup.

Honda saw room for improvement in the S2000's torsional rigidity and we see this in the upcoming S2000 CR which uses a brace to increase torsional rigidity.

crazy since Porsche 911 Turbo 996:27,000 Nm/degree!
Bugatti Veyron : 60,000 Nm/deg
!!!!!
That's stiffer than Carbon Fiber chasis F1 car (40,000 Nm/deg)

How do you "feel the car flexing slightly"? I know you gave a detailed description in the OP, but could you nail down the symptom for us? The situation you describe, crossing expansion joint one wheel at a time, will give a noticable jump from bump steer alone.
Thanks for all the replies.

use the last one. I was curious about the first number because it said 7100 and I had to find that one. Took me a long time to find s2000 number...
I believe z4 M coupe and z4 M convertible have the same torsion rigidity.

[QUOTE=SiDriver,Jun 28 2007, 09:37 AM] Just out of curiosity... on those open top cars that have so much flex - wouldn't the frame loosen up over time and the car feel like garbage after some mileage?
If I am not mistaken, the S2000, starting in 2004, received some upgrades that stiffened the structure further. Go back and read the announcements and you will see what I mean. I have not checked the parts catalogs, but I suspect that the new gussets are in there somewhere.

It's just a sensation and I think I'm probably slightly more sensitive to these things than most people. When going over uneven bumps, I can feel a slight "quiver" and kind of like a very minor "oscillation" effect via the sound, feel of the seat/floor against my body, and my peripheral vision sensing the shakes (note the A pillars in your peripheral vision, don't look directly at them). I'll have Billman drive the car in a couple of weeks and hopefully, I can put this issue to bed lol.
