does anyone else think the elise looks like an ugly reptile?
if you're into the elise, go ultimate and get the ariel atom. neither is a REAL car, but rather an awesome rush.

I've been interested in the Elise as well. I havent sat in one however. I'm 6'2" and 205...medium frame. Would I be able to fit in the car?
Honda Dealers and Honda reliability are sure bet. Important issue for moters that count on high RPM's. No answers on weather Toyota dealers will maintain their engines in a Lotus. Local Lotus dealer is 3 hours away for me. Are there any Lotus Elises with 30,000+ miles and had major warrantee work covered? Lotus costs more and corners faster than the S (holds higher G's), but has less HP. That said if Mark at HRM thru me a bone today on a Elise I would probably bite.

I'm not sure if Toyota would maintain them, I think the better question is: Would you take your $40,000 Lotus to a Toyota dealer for their mechanic to work on? An oil change on a Lotus is far more involved then a Celica, despite it being the same motor. IMO, you have to do the work yourself, unless you have lots of money. $220 for an oil change to be exact. Or the >$1,000 intake.. or the $13,000 turbo kit offered by a dealer here.
All of those items can be done for far less if you work on your car yourself.
If I wanted a dedicated track car I'd think about the elise.
But as a daily driver... I don't think I could pay 40k+ for a hunk of sheet metal with a celica engine strapped to it. Its fast, its light, it looks cool as hell, but it rattles like bitch and feels like your riding a unicycle on a metal seat.
... Kinda sad when you see S2k owners put another car down for too rough a ride haha.
