Honda S3000
This reminds me of my trip to the Gettysburg, PA battleground museum, where I saw Union and Confederate soldiers' uniforms that were so small many 10 year old kids today wouldn't fit in. Humans have become that much taller and bigger since the Civil War. Someday maybe 150 years from now, some museum will have an S2k in it (probably mine). Visitors will say "how did anybody ever fit into that?"
Honda is so weak kneed aboutn sports cars, I would bet against seeing such a vehicle. Lots of concepts and rumours but I doubt it will come to fruition. If it does Honda has to be willing to take a loss on the car as they can't sell such vehicles in large numbers. I'd love to see it , but I won't hold my breath.
They (Honda) currently cater to soccer moms and retirees, their vehicle line up is so boring they can inspire narcolepsy at an insomniac convention. They should pull out of F1 racing, put that money losing venture funds to building sports cars and don't worry about making a profit on every vehicle they sell. Then we might see a sports car someday from the big H. I plan on keeping my car forever too.

Like dolebugger said, we are continously getting bigger and taller...I remember the side by side comparision to the Honda S600, damn that thing was tiny.
What Mark said about S2000 being in a different era, I agree. The s2000 was special because it was to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary.
I'd like to see Honda build a RWD hardtop coupe though. I doubt that will happen.

When Honda first brought out the S2k back in '99, I had hoped that Honda had FINALLY discovered RWD, as I like their other vehicles but do not like FWD. Then, when I got to drive a broken in S2k, I found that they had not only discovered RWD, but had actuallly improved upon it. I began hoping for RWD Honda sports sedans, coupes, sport wagons, and a whole line of RWD Hondas in the future with which I could furnish my garage! But that appears to have been just wishful thinking on my part.
Didn't they cancel the S3000 along with the RWD project that included the NSX back in 2009 due to the slumping economy?

Hey, RWD is a matter of personal taste for me. I think FWD is the most efficient for "econo-boxes" and "city cars". But for any car that requires any discretionary spending on my part, or for which I want a bit of performance, FWD doesn't cut it. When the FWD car has any real power at all, I can still feel the torque steer, understeer, and lame handling. For snow, I want AWD, and find it works best when based on a RWD platform. If no AWD is available on snowy days, I prefer RWD -- so at least the torque steer won't put me in the ditch.
