I'm not sure it's worth the $40,000 asking price....
Only thing that merits that price are it's track records which is dependent on driver and wouldn't really matter unless you were planning to track it. Last i looked the market for these was not that high, but then i'd never come acroos a track ready one.
Says he has all the parts to put back into road use, but without seeing the condition of the interior I would be concerned. Of course i'd want the car for a classic cruiser, so that's probably some of my bias. The motor is pretty much spec'd to stock which would be less than exciting by today's standards. Could be fun on the back roads with a decent set of tires.
I've been interested in in the s600 and s800 and wouldn't mind having a sunday classic to drive around. But, these are highly sought after by the racing community and parts are hard to find for restoring purposes.
