Default HondaCare

I just wanted to do a survey of S2000 owners and their thoughts on HondaCare.

Personally I wish I would have spent the $$$ on something else. I just rolled 100k mi and never used it. I have some problems with my top, but that is considered a wear and tear item and not covered. It's really a personal choice though. If you need piece of mind get it, if not save the $$$ for tires. MY $.02

Honda Care is just a smidge better than a Powertrain warranty after your first 36,000 mile/36 month original warranty is up. For close to the same amount of money your dealer probably has something offered that is equivalent (or better than in coverage) to the orginal factory warranty. These "aftermarket" warranties are typically useable with any ASE Certified technician in the lower 48 states - which would make you free of having to go to a Honda dealership - pretty handy when outside of your local area

My "aftermarket" warranty is covered by a group called JM&A (Jim Moran and Associates) and it covers more than the orginal Honda warranty. I've only used it to replace a faulty HID bulb so far, but I still have another 3 years or 30,000 miles to go

Oh yeah - the Premium JM&A package covers a dealer installed super charger as well as certain soft top failures

In the two years that I've owned my S, I've only used mine to replace the driver's window regulator.

I think it is very worth it so far. To be honest all I paid for it was $50 to transfer it to me from the previous owner. So far I have had a fuel pump replaced, new air pump, and was given $500 towards the purchase of my hardtop since I had the plastic window. I have had well over $1000 paid towards my car with no questions asked. Even if I paid the full price for it I would still be happy.

I applied my extended care warrenty to my loan. If she blows, she'll blow before I reach 36k miles.

Cashed mine in. They won't cover modified cars. On a good note, after having the policy in force for 18 months beyond the original 36 months, I was able to get back over 80% of what I paid for it. It just took them 3 months to send out the check.
