I've got several questions for those of you with MY 2000s whose standard warranty has expired...

Did you decide to purchase an extended warranty?

If so, did you go with the Honda extended warranty or a 3rd party? (& why?)

My standard warranty will expire in April & I'm trying to decide whether or not to get an extended warranty for my S2000.

I currently have only 17K miles on my S2000, so I obviously don't drive it that much.

I have Warranty Gold for my Jeep Grand Cherokee & have been happy with their service, but was thinking maybe the Honda warranty would be better for the S2000.

Any thoughts?

Hmm, my dealer is giving me 4yr/50k warranty for free if I do all the schedueled maint. listed in the manual with them. This isn't a bad deal. They say more and more dealers are doing this, since Honda is loosing sales due to the 3yr,36k warranty.

 

I have a MY2000 and purchased a 7yr/75,000 for around $1,100. I did this because I purchased it this summer. You can definately get a better deal, just see above.

 

i bought the extended 7yr/100k/$0deductible HondaCare warranty. I like my local dealer and have no problems extending my service period if its in their hands. i paid $1k for the warranty BTW. shop around. you can buy a warranty from any dealer in the US and they are transferrable if you do sell your car.
