Hondacare is a good warranty as far as I know. Yea you may be paying an extra 50$ or whatever it is monthly but thats is much better than paying out 1000$ in one visit. It does not feel good when you do not use it but you had the peace of mind which is priceless IMO.

As far as money back guarantees, most programs I sell carry a 100% CREDIT back guarantee, meaning if you dont use it in the time period alotted you can take the price paid and apply it toward your next warranty. The remainders carry a 1500$ cash back guarantee but not 100%.

To answer your question. All vehicle warranties that I am aware of carry a 100% money back if canceled in the first 60 days. Some are pro rate refundable others are ONLY transferable. Check your paperwork there should be a section about it.

Honda care is actually pretty good. Expensive, but decent. I hate the definition of hose, which include hardlines, but otherwise good.

Beware that some stealerships will try to sell you the high margin care instead of Honda. I caught my local trying to lie that their junk WAS Honda care, "but WE are a honda dealer"...

I purchased the Hondacare that came with gap. Is there anyway to keep the gap & cancel the hondacare at a prorated amount since I've owned my S for around 4 months.

Hondacare gave me 1 year or up to 12K mi from when the car was purchased. I will hit the 12K mi before I hit my one year, 12K is just too low for a daily.

You've heard bad things about HondaCare? The third party warranty providers are the ones you have to worry about because they are not honored at all the dealers.

Extended warranties are a rip off. I know there will always be stories of how it saved someone from paying lots of money on repairs yadda yadda yadda.... But statistically you will always lose. Think about it. How do these companies make money? They prey on people's fear of something going wrong. Obviously not enough things "go wrong" because they are still in business. Also when you buy an extended warranty ~70% of what you pay goes to the salesman, ~20% goes to profit for the company, and only ~10% on average goes to paying claims! As I said, there will be instances where someone may benefit from the warranty, but the odds are heavily on your side. Besides, most things that break won't cost you $2100 anyway. Why pay for parts/labor on something that hasn't broken?

Say what you will, but I love my Honda Care. I bought mine just before the original 3-year / 36,000 ran out, the extended policy was under a grand and I paid 10% down and made 11 monthly payments with 0% finance charge.

I have another year left on it as I went with 7-year / 70,000, I have already had it pay for itself by the replacement of both rear wheel bearings and hubs.

For me Honda Care has been ANYTHING BUT a rip off!

My girlfriend canceled hers within 60 days after reading about denials of warranty work due to modifications. I think there was a thread about a dealer stating that a CAI affecting the transmission resulting in failure.

We went in on a Saturday and they said all the finance people were too busy and only do the cancellation paperwork on the weekdays. I asked for the manager and he said the same thing. Since today was the 60th day, I demanded that it be done today. It was 1 piece of paper that took less than 5 minutes to fill out. It was the same finance person we dealt with before, and he was awfully different the second time around. Be ready for grief if you do cancel.

They refunded the money as a payment to principle, but for whatever reason, her monthly payment did go down from 55x to 49x.

I only wish I got 70% of profits as a rep. You are no where close! I am paid pretty good and I get 20% of gross profit, thats profit not the total cost.
