Hondata: Really need to applaud your team and thier ingenuity to get that working.

I think the price needs a little work, since you need to consider the $$/HP ratio.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Finally!

But if the gains with Intake-Header-Exhaust and Hondata are like 5-10 peak HP then it's best to keep the money for a supercharger...

It would be nice if the price was less, but it is based on the cost of components and development cost, and is not something that we arbitrarily set. In most cases we avoid quoting a power increase unless the application is limited (eg a reflash for a stock engine). Going back to our test vehicle we can get the figures for gains over a stock engine, but in any case we would expect the main application for this product will be for forced induction. This doesn't mean that it will not work NA, it is just that with forced induction you need good engine management, and we believe that we offer a very good solution for that application.

What 06 parts do you need to upgrade to?

Edit: Sorry, I just now looked at the hondata website that says what parts you need.

I don't understand why some of these parts are on the list of needing to be updated:
Crank sensor 37500-PZX-003
Crank wheel 13622-PCX-013
TDC sensor 37510-PZX-003
TDC wheel 14112-PCX-003
Valve cover 12310-PCX-020
Drain plug washer (fro PCV valve) 94109-14000
PCV valve 17130-PCX-003

Crank and TDC stuff I can understand I think - I suppose the RSX based ECU expects different info than the F20C ECU does? But valve cover and PCV valve?

Any chance of seeing a Church Automotive dyno posted on vtec.net soon?

They have one for the '06

http://www.hondata.com/reflash_s2k_06.html

it's priced much more reasonable as well.

You can unlock alot of power in the K series motors but F20c-F22c are well tuned
You are mistakenly comparing the Hondata ECU reflash (a one time deal) with the Hondata K-Pro (fully programmable, anytime). This is the reason for the big price difference.

The only thing I wish they would have done, is installed this package into the OEM ECU housing. That way it would be legal for SCCA and NASA racing rules.

wowzers! finally a fully programable OBD-II compliant tuning solution. Its a shame it has to be so expensive, otherwise I would be first in line.
