The only thing I wish they would have done, is installed this package into the OEM ECU housing. That way it would be legal for SCCA and NASA racing rules.
The boards are the same size, but the mounting holes and heat sink are in different locations, but it could be made to work. It depends on your interpretation of the rules - does the connector sticking out 1.5" further than normal meet the rules? (the rules mention that the modifications must bedone inside the OEM case, and the connector cannot be modified).

Great point, but until a tech inspector makes that call. We will never know. But technically the changes are inside the OEM case. So it could go either way.

Our current option is JDM ECUs that are pre mapped for thier mods (J's, Mugen, ect)

Can you modify our OEM ECU and drop the ODBII sensor and leave just the core ECU functionality?

Also, we have talked in the past about this project in early 06. I will call you as I would love to be a dealer on these.

it's priced much more reasonable as well.

You can unlock alot of power in the K series motors but F20c-F22c are well tuned
reflash hehe..

What more can the KPro do compared with a full standalone such as the AEM EMS?

I have Hondata K-Pro on my wife's Civic and have had an AEM EMS on my S2000 and prefer the K-Pro over the AEM EMS. Aside from any differences in functionality, it may boil down to personal preference concerning the user interface.

well would the K pro be more daily driver friendly? Will it pass the OBDII plug in check?

Speaking specifically for Californians, K-Pro will not pass smog (visual test specifically).

sorry if this is a noob question, but how does this help for boost? does it make it like a car that is programmed for boost, like an evo?

K-Pro allows you to fully program your ECU (fuel, air, timing, etc.). You cannot compare it to "programmed for boost, like an evo?" because the EVO simply comes from the factory with an ECU that is programmed for a set boost level. In order to safely increase the boost level on that EVO, you need to be able to manipulate the factory ECU, which you cannot do unless you have some sort of EMS.
