Default hondata information

I've heard of the apex vtec controller and what it can do for performance but when i called a local shop, they told me about some product called a hondata which is much better that the apex and is around the same price. Can anyone give me some more info on this product and the advantages of this compared to the apex. Thanks

yea, it's a more tunable ecu than the APEX-i, but takes it a little more know-how to properly program. But it's the real deal for engine tuning, no matter what you're running.

I am not aware of a Hondata unit for the S2000. UL had a prototype last year but they never marketed one.

First off, the two are completely different. The VAFC is just a piggyback fuel controller, not an ECU. While the Hondata, whether it be a s100, s200, etc. is a standalone fuel management system. In order to put one on successfully, you may or may not have to convert to a chipped ECU of some other OBDI nature such as a P28. Then attach the hondata unit to it. You can get your hands on a VAFC for about $150 or less, and tuning for one is limited but will run you about $200, depending on the shop. On the other hand, a hondata system will cost more, but prices vary depending on the features you choose. The capabilities are also greater with standalone fuel management, but this was just somewhat of a quick run-through. Read about it all at www.hondata.com

My buddy just sent his RSX ecu to them to have it tuned for a turbo. I didnt think they had a ecu for an S2000 either. Hondata makes the intake mainfold gaskets.
