Hondata in a nutshell
Could someone explain to me how Hondata works? the different packages or what not? Is it simply a reflash? It seems very complicated. I was thinking it was a tool used to pull extra HP out of your stock N/A motor and allowing it to mesh by creating maximum HP out of your mods. for example, I/H/E + Hondata, how much total would that be and what kind of HP gains could one expect.

Hondata alone,on a F-20 or F-22,is good,for a minimum +92 WHP.
If you add I/H/E,multiply by 1.5X.

Dont listen to him its not even 92 hp. Its at least like 192 WHP. Hondata gives you fawking awesome gains. I did it and i can rev to 19000 rpms. Its mad tight when it hits VTEC man. Just get Hondata + Mugen cams and exhaust bearings = mad gains dude.
i'm curious how people are so "anti-hondata" and shunning the guy for posting this on the S2000 forum, considering this topic very much now applies to s2ki. hondata is in fact working on a unit for the 06 S2000 to be released probably shortly. did you know that one of their "test" S2000's is owned by a member of this very forum? come on guys, cut the guy a break.
as for your answer, hondata is essentially repgramming your ECU's flash memory. the ECU has a memory chip that stores all of the information regarding how the car runs; what fuel maps, rev limiter, timing, etc. the hondata reflash reprograms your ECU for more aggressive tuning, timing, etc. that's how it gets more power.
up until now, the S2000 ECU was NOT programmable. therefore, no hondata mod was possible. but the 06 ECU, however, is.
