Default Hondata reflash redline indication?

I'm thinking about getting the Hondata re-flash for my 06 S2000. I was wondering how the new Hondata re-flash redline will respond? With the stock 06 S2000 the tack display will flash at 8,000 rpm to indicate that you have reached the redline and that the fuel cut off is imminent. Does it do the same with the Hondata re-flash? If so will the rpm still flash at 8,000 rpm, or will it flash at 8,300 rpm to indicate that the fuel cut-off at 8,500 rpm is immanent? Or will it just flash at 8,500-rpm fuel cut off, or no flash at all?

Anyone know how the Hondata is set up?

Thanks.

it will flash @ 8000.. all the reflash does is raise your rev limit. the tach doesn't change.

Thanks for the reply. That kind of sucks though, as it seems that if it still flashes at 8,000 rpm it will make it tricky to see were 8,300 rpm is and when to shift. I was hoping that the ECU controlled at which rpm the tachometer would flash. It should be programmable with in the ECU. When you raise the rev limit, you should raise the point at which the tachometer flashes.

Anyone have the Hondata re-flash? Is it hard to see your shift point with the tachometer still flashing at 8,000 rpm?

You have a few options. I'll list them from cheapest to most expensive:

Modifry's beeper: The dash will still behave like stock, but you can set the beeps to whatever rpm you want, so you can shift at 8500.

JDM/EDM gauge cluster swap: The '04 and '05 JDM as well as the '04-'07 EDM models had the f20c with a 9000 rpm redline, and they had the ap2 gauge cluster. Here's what it looks like:

Motec, Spoon, etc swap: works great, but $$$$

hard to see the shift point? The tach doesnt actually extend past 8000rpm, its just a bunch of lines that blink. Once you hit 8000rpm the whole area blinks, there is no visual indication on the tach that the RPMs are still rising.

That's what I mean, how would you tell when you were at 8,300 rpm to shift?

options:

replace the dash with one that goes to 9000
get a shift light
get a modifry shift beeper

this was already covered

Hondata got that performance report was base on the DYNO rerult.

All they do is pushing the performance to the limit, like the question you mention.. which wasn't belong to their project.

IMO, the shift light is one of the good way to answer you question

* don't be too stubborn to that point, because extra 500RPM is less than half second between 1st~4th gear when u WOT! When the RPM is rising, you can get that shift point by your commonsense.

Suprised Flashpro can't change the rpm point at which the tach flashes.

The blink logic is build into the digital dash not the ECU so hondata isnt able to
