Honest opinions wanted ...
Thanks for all your comments. On another note, do you guys have kids? If so, do you feel guilty not being able to take them in the S as they are very small. I am asking because we are expecting. I am pretty sure I want to get the S, but before that I need to get a 4 door as a family car.
Well, considering you are on the s2ki site, I'd be surprised if anyone tells you to stick with the prelude. Anyways, the S is totally different. I've driven my sister's Prelude on several occasions and there is no comparison.
Oh, and I don't have kids and the S is my daily driver. When I do have kids will have to go with an M5 as a family car hehe.
Good luck and get that S.

Okay, I'll be the first. Since your Prelude is very new, keep it another year or two until the new S comes out. It is a waste to get rid of it now. If you don't drive hard to see the extra 25% that the S will give you most of the time then trade it for the S.
I miss my prelude sometimes, just hop in and go without worrying about anything. The Prelude is nothing to sneeze at either, when lowered with proper shocks and springs, with the right bolt ons, it is a very nice coupe. The 5 Gen styling will last for a long time without looking dated. The current S is near the end of its 1st generation, be patient and get the 2nd Gen S2XXX.

Kids change everything. You probably should consider the 4 door first, before you even think about the S. You will need the extra seats and carrying capacity.
We went through the same dilemma a number of years ago. We opted for the 4 door and felt that it was the right choice. I love my S but I'd don't think it's a practical car to own with babies in the house.
I traded my SH in for the "S". I kind of had the same dilemma you have,
wondered if I'd have buyers remorse a month after I completed the deal.
Nope!...The "S" is way too much fun. I don't miss my Prelude at all. The
only regret I have about buying an S2000 is not getting one sooner.
BTW..I lowered my Prelude with an Eibach Pro Kit and hated the way it
chewed up the inside of each tire because there was too much negative
camber (non-adjustable stock)...I just put H&R springs on my S, lowered
approximately .75". The S2000 has front and rear camber adjustment,
depending on how much you lower the car, you can align it to factory specs.
Good Luck!!

I used to have a 98 Prelude and then had a 02 WRX and just got my S in November of 02 and haven't looked back since...the S is quick, super sexy looking, handles much better, and is much rarer than a lude or wrx. so you are a class where not many people are. get the S, you won't be dissapointed.
