I have the Tein's too.. I'm sure they can be easily repainted or sanded down to whatever you want.
Why would you care how the hood looks when open??? Its not like you drive around like that. This is a purely functional modification. Even the car shows have the hoods opened wide.....for looks.
To each his own I guess.
BTW: measurements are 21.5" in the closed position and 27.5" in the open position. This is measured from the mounting locations.

I had mine painted by a local bodyshop for $50.00
The hardest part was matching that goldish color. It is from a Volvo paintbook.
How does one close the bonnet with hood dampers? I usually drop the hood when it's about 3 inches from closing. This way I don't have to press on it, reducing the risk of denting the hood. Do hood dampers exert resistance when they are almost horizontal?
