Default Hood Pins

Need to install hood pins on my Veilside hood. I have searched hours for some info on this with no luck. What I need to know is where under the hood does the pin assembly get mounted and what size pins are being used. Any advise is greatly appreciated and pics would be better.

Thanks
Sam

please don't do it

that hood is way too smooth looking for pins (you do have the one with those two crescents, right?)

Here you can see where the pins mount from above:

And under the hood:

Just use the pre-cut holes that are located just to the inside of the radiator brackets. I use standard Sparco hood pins.

Ya, I need to further secure my hood as well. The stock latch is inadequate.

Thanks for the pics and info, that will be very helpful! I really didn't want to put them on the hood but the stock latch on the hood itself is already comming loose. It has now become a safety issue.

Do you want/need any advice on how to properly drill holes in your hood after you've mounted the pins themselves? Might be that you've done this before (and that your post is just about where to mount the pins)...so I'll let you stop me before I go on unnecessarily

Try using the locking hoodpin kit by MR. Gasket...It looks cleaner because its flush to the hood, but its kinda hard to line up right sometimes... heres a link:

Are they long enough? Plus, I'd think there'd be an issue with the fact that the pins are mounted perpendicular to the radiator frame...but they don't arrive perpendicular to the hood once the hood is closed . Longer, traditional pins are more forgiving in that respect. Regardless, very neat idea...the flush look. Just not sure it would work for our downsloping hoodline.

That's very similar to the Swat hood pins I was going to start searching for.

They're very similar. Hmm.. May try the Mr. Gasket first as they are probably easier to get here. I'm trying to find some hood pins, that don't break up the look of the car.

We sell the Sparco pins that Aaron uses.
