horrible ending to a great weekend
spent all weekend at deals gap for my birtday. ran the gap probably 7 times and had a blast. once we were done me and the wife were headed back home when a small rain shower came in, we were going around a pretty mild turn at about 25 mph and before i even realized it the back end of my car had come around on me. i tried my best to correct and did so somewhat but as a result i crashed into a guard rail. luckily the wife and i were unhurt but it made me feel like crying :( my car is a 2000 with only 25k miles. it did over 4k worth of damage. makes for a great birthday......

You're lucky if that's only $4k. I would assume more like $5k+, but then again I'm no auto-body specialist. Either way glad that you both are alright.

s2000 5 star side safety ftw, thats some nasty rear quarter damage :(. Insurance collision damage, then get silver door from junk yard?

im looking at 3 weeks in the shop for repairs, forgot to mention someone watched me wreck and then left without even asking if we were ok, people suck sometimes and there was no cell signal where i was at.

Tires worn?
|
i think alot of it was the pavement surface, i had no issues with traction on the gap runs. after it happened i was wishin i had brand new tires on the back. maybe it wouldnt have happened.
|
glad your unhurt. The damage isnt too bad. sucks that your car had such lo mile And then that happens!!!
|
wow that really sucks, glad to hear everyone was ok though.

Autocross and track school for low traction driving skills.

Glad to hear you are both okay and the car wasn't written off and can be fixed. How much tread was left on the rear ties out of curiosity.?
