The Houston area S2000's met up again last night, man did we have fun. We had 7 S2000's, Me, Unicron, Lips2000, ITR, Joe_S2K, and 2 others.

We all met up at a parking lot where a bunch of import cars meet up every weekend. There were some nice cars, my favorite would have been the yellow Audi S4.

Once we all met up we went around town driving like crazy people. Some of the stooks kept getting left behind, we're going to have to do something about their timidness.

The highlight of the night, at least for me, was when we had 3 S2000's sitting at the front of a red light. We had me with my SC S2000, Lips2000 with stock tires, and Unicron with aftermarket rims/tires. We all revved up tp 7,000 and dropped the hammer when the light turned green. I'll let the other guys say what happened, because I couldn't see much out of my rear view mirror.

I'm not sure how we went the whole night without anyone getting pulled over - I need to get me one of those walkie-talkie's.

It was fun!! All I can say about the SC S2000 is that it's faster than stock...DAMNIT!! It just kept pulling...after 1/4 mile it was probably 3-4 car lengths ahead!! Sounds nice too. Of course, Wes almost wrecked going back to Westheimer (ask him what the concrete wall at Memorial looks like ). Kirk is getting better and Joe was definitly up to the task. Unicron...you late night fool. We are heading back (~12:30 am) and Uni's going out to the clubs!! Darrin is still breaking in but he kept up well and Kevin...put your damn top down!! Was pretty cool though when we were hauling down the beltway and those shimmering HIDs behind me were just bouncing all over the place! Everybody has to get a Motorola Talkabout for this stuff and defininitely for the trip to Ashville!! 2.5 weeks!! Whooo Hoooo!!!
Would've really liked to hook up with that S4 but the cops were everywhere. Bummer
Had a great time. Need to do it again!!

P.S. - Disclaimer: Any and all exhibitions of speed were displayed in relatively safe parameters: little or no traffic, 3 lane, straight, clean, well marked non-residential roads late at night. I in no way condone street racing or any of its affiliated activities (i.e.-Burnouts (although I did this), inappropriate hand gestures (although I did this too), racing with strangers in a severely modified LT1 F-body (although I did this too) or unnecessary lane changes/radical driving maneuver (although I did this too)). That is all...

LOL! I bet you were JUST KIDDING!

And what are we doing writing this post when it's simply incredible outside? I'm at work. What are your reasons?

And I swear I never went over 137 MPH.

<totally ignoring Mark's remarks about my street autocrossing slide through the light where I came close to sliding a bit too far; the curb and/or wall would have slowed me down anyhow - not concerned.>

damn,, sat night was a blast.. take what the austin ppl do in the hill country and put it on the dragstrip(late night street light version anyway) and you've got the houston crowd. luckly they don't go 120+mph ever where like the austin crowd or i would of found myself in 5th ward asking for directions.

Mark(Lips2000) is a crazy mofo.. now the 2nd craziest driver i know.. just slightly less insane then my bud up here that drag races mopars. if your ever following mark in the pack and lose him.. just follow the tire tracks.. heh.. i need to get down that U-turn technique. man, i thought you were gonna lose it taking that turn to get onto 59.

i was behind Wes and Lips when they took off against the (LS1) i believe.. and i was hmm.. (4-5+)car lengths back and could still hear Wes's supercharger whining out

Awe shucks...you are going to ruin my reputation!! Hope you made it back allright...sounds like you did.

As far as the turn at 59...I do that everyday!! I work just down the street and that is my normal drive home. You should see the driver's faces that are stopped at the light heading my direction when the back-end swings out! Priceless!

I'm so envious of you guys. There are only a few guys on the board are from Sac town so we can't have that much fun. I think I need to do some serious PR around so they can join the board.

Hey Folks,

I am in Houston looking for a few fellow S2ker's to show off with.

Met Shingles at the Ft. Worth SCCA this weekend.

That was a blast and the s2k's kicked some serious Porsche butts.

Wow!

Let me know where and when you meet again and I will try and make it by..

Lips2000...your reputation made it all the way to Texas Motor Speedway.....
