Default How bad is bogging the engine?

HI. Today while pulling into the driveway I accidentally left it in third instead of putting it in first to slowly ease the car in. The engine bogged pretty badly until I put it into first. Because I do everything smoothly, artfully, like a matador, while driving, this disturbed me a lot.

How bad is bogging the engine? I feel like going out and driving right for a while to undo what I've done.

Nowhere close to the harm caused by mis-shifting that leads to mechanical over-rev. The worst that bogging could do is load the rod and main bearings while the oil film is thin due to low rpm. Even then, no big deal when it happens once or twice.

not that big of a deal if it's not frequently done (bogging)....dont worry about. just try not to do it again in the future and u'll be fine
