I did an accident report with the bank, called today the only camera I have going for me is the one on the ATM machine, generally not that good but maybe they can atleast make out the car type and then go through who was in the bank at that time. One guy keeps popping in my head, this jock who was driving a jeep sped off pretty quick, (unfortunately if he was one the that hit it, I missed it by about 7 seconds).

Insurance co. is taking forever becasue my policy is only 1 week old.

If this doesn't make you feel better about the whole situation, I don't know what will. My S has a bit of a bad luck streak, but she STILL comes out looking brand new, and competition show ready. Note that mine is a daily driver, it's the only car I have, and she still brings home trophies.

The week I bought my car, some 16 year old in a jeep rear-ends me while I'm sitting at a stoplight...I was beyond pissed off, I still had the dealer tags on her! Into the body shop she goes.

A couple weeks later, I have my baby back, and decide to treat a lady friend to a nice drive, followed by a couple drinks at my local watering hole. I've never parked in the parking lot of this pub before, but it's early, and a weeknight, and I've got prime parking. While I'm out on the deck having a good time, I notice a scuffle getting under way in the parking lot near my car! I excuse myself from the table and go outside just to move my car out of the way and let these two guys beat eachother into submission. The damage was already done....one of them got thrown into the driver's side front fender, leaving a huge dent! Back into the body shop she goes.

At this point my car has been in the body shop more than my garage. As I'm on my way to small claims court to get these guys to pay for the damage to my car (which they did) I'm sitting at another red light. Guess what happens?? Yup, you guessed it, rear-ended again!!! On my way to court for the last damage! Back to the body shop!

This time I was hurt pretty badly. I was trying to get something from the passenger floorboard, so I was bent over pretty good when the guy hit my car. My back won't ever be the same, but since I'm in the military, I can't exactly complain too much, or I'm out of a job too!

On top of all that, there's been a couple door dings, and somebody dragging a suitcase around my back bumper, leaving a couple nice long scratches.

My advice to you...find a good body shop, and learn to do some good detail work! If you know these two things, you can keep your car in pristine shape for years to come...it just takes work.

I wish I would've gotten into detailing and paint correction years ago. The reduction in my headaches alone is worth the cost of admission.

Check with the bank, most of them have security cameras outside as well. My friend's M3 was backed into pretty badly, he went back inside and asked if they would share security footage, it took them about a week to get it released to him, but it turned out a big Ford F250 with a tow hitch backed into his rear bumper, crushing it in pretty badly.

They had a clear shot of the front license plate and the guy driving the truck (we don't have front plates in GA, but the truck was from a state that does require them). They found the guy another week later, and his insurance had to cover everything, and he also got a stiff ticket for leaving the scene of an accident.
