Default How to check your car for warranty

Ok, long story. I bought the extended warranty for 7 years 100k miles from Honda.

I take in my car to dealer A, where they tried to charge me over 500 bucks for replacing a rear upper control arm bushing, which I thought was under warranty.

I called dealer B, with whom I tried to inform that my car SHOULD be under warranty and dealer A was trying to rip me off. B calls A to confirm why they wouldnt honor the warranty, and B calls me back saying I have no warranty at all!

Now, A didnt tell me I did not have warranty, they neglect to tell me that and just try to charge me 500+.

Now I hear that there may be a third party dealer warranty which doesnt come up on Honda computers.

I hate Honda dealerships and this will be my last Honda ever. But is there any way to check your car if it has a warranty?

I suggest you call or go up to the honda dealership where you got your car at and go from there.....

Just found out my car is under some third party third tier toilet warranty. Damnit, now they are going to try to deny me warranty and tell me to go to the place I bought it at. God, **** Honda.

It appears that you are the one that bought the third party extended warranty from whoever you bought the car from. I'm sure you had to sign papers. I don't see how you can blame these other dealers for it.

yes, the provider of the warranty is stated on the papers that you signed.

now, the honda dealer should have offered the hondacare contract. it seems the F&I department at that dealer got some kind of kickback.

Ok got the issue resolved.

Yes, I may have signed the papers, but you would think if it is a warranty offered by a Honda dealership that they would have it in their database. If not, why coudln't dealer A just state that they could not see the warranty attached to my file instead of just trying to charge me 500 bucks?

" I don't see how you can blame these other dealers for it."

Like I said, if you signed the Hondacare warranty or some third tier warranty wouldn't you expect all Honda dealers to honor it?

My issue was the way dealer A tried to conceal the fact that the warranty did not show up on their file and tried to charge me inconspicuously.

Even if it is third party Honda America and every dealer should be aware of any third party warranty contracts signed at any one if its dealers.

That's why you should have purchased the American Honda Co. warranty, straight from the manufacturer.
