I saw mine sitting at a local Lexus dealership on a Saturday night, and bought it on the following Monday. I wanted to get a black one, but the ones I saw were not in near as good of shape as the Silverstone that I bought.

It came from Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis on Manchester Rd. They had 2 silverstones there at the time. I did find out that the passenger side of my car has been repainted, but I don't think it was in a serious accident. It still has all the original wheels and the original front tires when I bought it. You can see where the paint was blended into the hood and the trunk, so that it where the damage stopped. It still has the original door handle on the passenger side too(I can tell by the slight paint mismatch). Both of the headlights look like the originals, judging by the amount of pitting in the lenses. The body panels all line up prefectly, and the car drives perfectly. I used to work at a dealership, and I wrecked my Mustang a year ago which I fixed myself except for the paint. So i guess you could say I know what to look for in a car that has been in an accident, but I was too excited about the S2000 to notice the tell tale signs until after I bought it.

I'm not a rich man. I fell in love with the s2k when I first saw one 2 years ago. Spent a year searching for one that I could buy right. Last may, I nailed my 01 for $500.00 below its trade in value. Makes it even more sweet!

i got mines on craigslist. after looking for a car for 2months plus goin from audi to 3000gt i finally came across the s2000. Although it was 1 1/2 hour drive it was well worth it. The guy priced his 00 s2000 silverstone with 57k miles at 20k, but we worked him down to 17,750 with 7year 100k mile warrenty. Seem like a good buy???

Good buy Tony! I just got my MY00 Silverstone/black with 55k for $17,600, but no warranty. I think we both got great deals!

After almost 6 months of researching a variety of other sports cars, I went to a Honda dealership and the salesman asked me if I wanted to test drive one. "No thanks". Of course I said yes!!! We hoped into a silver one and I had never felt so good in a care before that day. A few days later I went back and had to decide on a red or a Spa. I had never owned either color and decided on the Spa with all of the OEM body hardware. I've been happy ever since.

Can I choose two?
"New - after many weeks to months of research"
"New - on impulse, left dealership w/car same day you came"

I researched the car for a couple of years, actually. I had never driven one, but had ridden in several (at autocrosses, where you can really get a feel for the car's performance).

Then, one day I took my Prelude to the dealer to get it inspected... they had 3 S2000s on the lot and needed to get rid of them (it was the last week of the year), they made me a good deal, and I drove it home.

I still had to pay the $12.50 for the inspection sticker on the Prelude, though... bastards!

The test drive did me in I probably did about a month of research before buying mine new though.
