As a 11yr Key West resident, have to ask. What made you choose the jimmy-buffett handle?

Basically,

Gas pedal to da floor!

Bang a redline shift (hopefully you're a good shifter)

Repeat if necessary or out running the cops.

15 years ago on another forum, I chose it because it's close to my real name. Now that I'm on many other forums, I keep the name the same for consistency.

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a parrot head. Nothing against him, but it's just not for me. Give me some Creedence any day.

(yes, I've answered this question a few times )

I understand where you are coming from. It's just the nature of driving an MT car...that 1st to 2nd shift really slows you down if you are not trying to shift fast or drive aggressively. You have to give it more gas than in an AT car, and with the low torque of the s2000 you will have to rev to 3-4k just to stay with an AT car that's accelerating normally.

So what really bugs me lately is how slow I accelerate compared to other cars with automatic transmission. I'm not sure why I'm so slow compared to them.

Probably a disgruntled Miata / FR-S / BRZ owner coming here to troll.

To go faster, buy a real sportscar.
lol add Civic SI to the list.

for some reason, Civics, Frs/Brz, and Miata drivers think their cars are faster than s2ks

I'm happy to debate NA/NB Miata vs S2K for track car value, and to be honest the Miata edges us out there due to price.

Had a guy tell me once that the $32K optioned-up NC Miata he bought showroom-fresh was a better car/deal than the $18K I paid for my '06 with 42K miles. He didn't understand that he was the sucker who the 20 year old track rat would be thanking 10 years from now for taking the MSRP hit.

Maybe you're just talking about launching better, after that it's just pressing hard and shifting well.

If it's launching, get another car, the fun in these cars is at speed.

IMHO, launching these cars hard is abuse.

or as some here suspect, maybe it's a matter of getting a driver's license
