More rpms, quick smooth de-clutching. How are you "burning out" an s2000? You probably need better tires if you are regularly "burning out"

Pull the floor mat out from under the pedal and cut a hole in the carpet so it goes down further

So my take, from all this information, is that when (if!) my S2000 engined Cortina which weighs less than 2000lbs with driver, full tank etc gets on the road it should go fairly quickly.

I may have to go up a tad from the 13" wheels it currently has to keep it a little sane...

Well, there's several possibilities.
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance
  • A lack of low end torque
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance
  • Launching an S2000 is finicky, but once you find the sweet spot it you better hope you don't have F/I because something WILL break (probably the differential lol)
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance
  • Rear tires/wheels aren't wide enough or don't perform well
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance
  • 0-30 will feel relatively slow, 0-60 isn't bad at all for having a lack of torque (5.5 seconds)
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance
  • You're not holding the gas down enough
  • It's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance

Did I mention that it's an S2000, not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car, or any other cars that are incredible with straight line performance?

If the S2000 was meant for straight line power, it would haven't been such a small car, it would have a lot more torque, it would have wider wheels, and it wouldn't have been so damn light lol. If you do want to launch it, hold down the gas. The torque doesn't peak until 7500 RPM on an AP1 and 6800 RPM on an AP2, so keep that gas down when you're accelerating.

S2K Rich, did you mention that its an s2000, not an evo, gtr, supra, etc yet?
I feel like it needs more emphasis.

He said an S2000 is not an EVO, GTR, Supra, domestic muscle car. However, the order in which the cars were listed may not have gotten the point across. It should have been Supra, EVO, domestic muscle car, GTR.

I think.
