You can get it from Honda. I'm not aware of any aftermarket companies building a softtop for the S2000.

Honda is your only option.

I would take a look at the local yellow pages and I think that you will find that there are people that can help you. I have talked to several shops locally about tops and I don't think that this wiil be a problem.

Excellent question. I wonder if any of the aftermarket guys are planning to enter the market. With the MY00 and 01s going off warrantee (and getting older), there will be more and more folks starting to look.

There were several good tops to choose from when my '90 Miata top started shredding. But, the volume numbers are way lower for S2000s. It might not pay for them to build one.

As Andrew mentioned, www.hardtopguy.com has a blue convertible top (which is nice with Suzuka), but I don't know if that's actually a Honda top or not.

Anyway, good question!

I spent about an hour talking to one of the local shops and he told me that patterns were available for our car. Apparently, this shop at least, custom makes the tops to fit the cars that he is working on. I didn't ask him to look into the glass window, but since he custom makes the top, I would bet that it is a possibility. You might need the '02 frame though?

wow, thanks all, for comin up with so many answers..

when i made a visit to a local honda(Bellevue, WA) before i posted this question, the lady that works in the service center said she never knew about such stuff! how ignorant is she as a honda representative!!

so.. i guesss i'll call and try to ask someone who knows better
at that place again...

and yes, boiler, i would probably need the '02 frame...

i have a spa yellow s2k and i wouldn't really want to get a hartop as far as the top has the glass and such... the black s2ks look amazing with hardtops, but i found the yellows don't look exactly great with the hardtops... just a personal opinion!

thanks again!

Keith,

Jump into the PacNW forum and talk to Ben about HoB.

I got the top locally, but probably could have saved a lot of money buying it from Hardtopguy. The '01 frame just needs a couple of elastic straps added to assist the top folding properly, otherwise the '02 top fits easily, so don't buy a new frame. I paid $400 for installation, otherwise, it takes a whole day to replace it yourself.
