Depending on what he was driving (something old and beatup?) I would say in response: "Is that mid life crisis car?"

I'd say "Yes. And it sure beats being with some back shaving bitch looking for a green card like you got!" But then, subtle isn't my strong suit.

My answer would be . . . no.

Actually, if sporty cars mean mid-life crisis, I've been in mid-life since I was 21 and I'm well over 50 now.

I am 54 and will be 55 in February. So, I can say for sure that I have been in a "mid-life celebration" And, I expect that celebration to continue until my heart disease finally catches up to me!!! So, when anyone asks, just say it's not a crisis but a CELEBRATION! After all, 100 years ago odds are that you wouldn't even be alive for such a celebration.

If one has had a crisis related to being at the midpoint of one's life which has somehow been impacted by the purchase of an S2000, then by all means, one should reply to this question in the affirmative.

If on the other hand, one's S2000 is simply the realization of a lifelong dream to own and drive a two-seat roadster, as it is in my case, then one should reply in the negative.

Hey Marc! Got your Spa Yellow back in action yet? My wife and I are celebrating our 14th anniversary by taking a L-O-O-O-N-G ride through the backroads of central Maryland on November 2, so who knows? We may see you!
And if this is what a midlife crisis feels like, I wish I'd had it a long time ago!

I would just shout out that his wife likes it. Hehe.

Also, I would have to comment on the car he was driving. I'm sure it was some kind of raised up Ford monster truck.

*No, it's a Honda!*

...or if you're feeling particularly mean-spirited...

*It's a gift for many years of outstanding service.* ...pause. Wait for light to change... *From your wife.*
