You're joking right? I REALLY hope so. Where do these dumbasses learn how to drive these days. I'm probably younger than you are and I understand how to drive, it's really not complicated, believe it or not. Just do it the opposite of fast and furious lol jk.

no, im saying when you go to upshift, or downshift, the pedal should be all the way engaged, to the floor. if not, this will wear the clutch slightly but prematurely over time
Wow.

I agree with you.

If the clutch pedal did not need to be depressed all the way in, why would Honda or any company for that matter give you all that play.

Shift slow and easy and try not to lurch the car. Gradually you will get used to it and get faster.

For those experiencing such issues, I'd recommend the following reading:

- Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley

- Jackie Stewart's Principles of Performance Driving.

In addition also go to an AutoX or track day and your instructor will be able to sort out your technique and get you started in the right direction.

Rev-matching downshifts make the car feel SO much smoother. It lunges and bucks and jerks if you dont rev match and downshift.

ok?
i dont get why youre having a hard time with this, please get over it so the OP can learn what he posted for.

i figured anyone who is asking for a little advice should know it

EDIT: as an addition to your response, obviously pressing the pedal disengages the clutch, but if you are not pushing the pedal down all the way, you are not disengaging the clutch all the way

the problem I have is that when the clutch pedal is pressed it DISENGAGES the clutch, not engages it. But Im over it.

The AP2 is finicky compared to other manual trannied cars I've owned...I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the weak ass PP and heavy ass flywheel.

I don't know what you mean by finicky, but the smaller the engine, the more important it is to shift smoothly and properly - bigger engines and inertia will mask bad shifting. Also, frankly, Hondas are the easiest things to drive manual in.

OP: go back to the basics, since we don't know how you even learned to drive stick.

1 - clutch pedal to the firewall on every shift.
2 - go find an empty parking lot and practice getting the car moving in first without using any gas. Car stopped, clutch pedal to floor, select first gear, and slowly let off the clutch pedal to get the car moving. Don't even worry about getting to 2nd. This will teach you the friction point of the S2000 and how to be smooth on the clutch pedal. Later you can add gas and speed things up and still be smooth.
