a) Clutch-In in 1st Gear, raise the RPM to ~7500, and Clutch-Out to launch, or
b) Clutch-Out in Neutral, raise the RPM to ~7500, Clutch-In in 1st Gear, and launch.

Is b) technique necessary?

Here is my advice: anywhere from 7k to 9k and drop the clutch in first gear but make sure you have a cell phone handy to call 1-800-342-8158 we are now stocking these parts to get you back on the road real quick.
