Default How do you rate your V-AFC

To anybody with a V-AFC,
How do you like it? How much did you pay? would you buy one again? What kind of gains did you get? How hard would you rate installation and tuning it. Where did you mount it? Is there anything you would have done differently? Etc. etc.

I would rate mine a solid 8-9 out of 10. I Bought the car with it so I can't comment on installation or price. I went from 199-213rwhp. It's dash mounted. I would have (and probably still will) mount it in the center console in place of the change holder.

This is just because I've seen a lot of interest in it lately and am hoping that the people that are interested in one can now have a place to read about peoples opinions about it and maybe it will help them make decisions.(can you say run-on sentence?)

I rate it 9 out of 10.

I have one on loan from a fellow S2k owner, which I built a harness for. It was dyno'd on his car, but I have to say it is a nice setup. Totally smooths out the Vtec are for a smooth transition. I am definately going to get one for myself after my clutch upgrade and after I build a couple of harnesses for some others. Definately worth the price/performance gain.

Do a search on the topic, it has been covered many times. But in a nutshell it changes the VTEC engagement point as well as other things such as air/fuel ratios

I am interested in getting one for my car. I was wondering how difficult the unit is to operate. Do you have to dyno the car to tune it or are there certain settings that just work with an S2000? Is there any chance in toasting the engine with this mod?

Thanks for your help.

I think there is a big thread somewhere on s2ki with people's favorite settings, so I dont think dyno tuning is a must.
