If you want the most out of the VAFC then you should get it dyno tuned. Every car is going to be a little different from another, and you got to factor in altitude, humidity and things like that.

one question about the vafc...

after we "properly" set it, can we set it aside.... "set it and forget it?" what is there to monitor afterwards, if any?

I believe seasonal changes will affect the unit's performance and you'll have to adjust parameters accordingly. I'm not sure if that means another trip to the dyno but I can't believe a spring dyno session and the subsequent settings would work in the fall or early winter before snow arrives. I'll let owners chime in on that one.

I don't think seasonal changes would really effect it, unless the OEM ECU does a poor job dealing with seasonal changes. If the ECU can keep Air / Fuel ratios constant throughout the year, the V-AFC will work the same all year round. All it does is trick the ECU into leaning out the mixture by fixed percentages at various RPM ranges.

I am happy with my V-AFC, but the ECU will slowly tune it back out, if it is not properly configured.
