You can use the top down below freezing; I put it down in a heated garage and raise it there when back to warm. Do not move it when cold.

Side windows up, "top down" heater mode on, and hands inside the vehicle at all times! LOL! The heater in the S IS AWSOME. The cabin is toasty within 5 minutes - to the point I need to turn the temp. control DOWN!
Since rain was forcast today, I decided to take my beater to work. It took about 15 minutes just to get comfortable. The entire drive the heat was set to HIGH (about an hour and 1/2 drive)!
It's going to be a long winter when I finally decide to garage the S for the season. Do you guys think I'll be able to keep her there or do you think I'll break?

Good idea I just don't want to be on the road with the top down when it starts snowing (the snow here is not real snow - it's like wet, sloppy stuff)

Move 1800 miles southwest to the desert. I drove in to work this morning 10/25/02- coldest morning so far - 58 degrees. Top down, windows up, no heat.

I live in LA, so it doesn't really get that cold here, but when it does dip down in the temp, I use the "pillowy blanket" of warm air setting on the vent.
