Cyclon36: Its all good b/c I would have acted the same if I were in your shoes. For the longest time the popular belief (including mine) was that our windows did not zip down... When I saw tims2k's pic, I was blown away!

This has made my day... I think cleaning the inside of the rear window will easier x1000 now that I can just zip it down.

EDIT: Thanks Fester for the instructions

Yeah... I didnt know about our secret compartment for 2 weeks!! Took me a few minutes at my first fuel fill-up to find the gas cap release, too!!

Oh... and I didnt know my car came with a 6-disc CD changer for a few weeks too (I bought my car used and the CD changer had a cover on it... I assumed it was a cool toolbox).

You telling me, I spent my day F'in with my rear tint and I could have just unzipped the window and installed it? Cleaning would be 1000000000x easier.

Ummmm, is this really true? I've felt under there when installing the window but didn't find a zipper. If this is true, couldn't you simply get the plastic window replaced if need be???

I dont think it zips completely off. Only 3 of the 4 sides come off, so it flaps down.

Helms manual ... pg 20-42 thru 20-45.

Covers rear window replacement ... not as simple as unzipping!

The zipper is under an adhesive piece of foam. If you unzip it, you will have to replace this piece. This also means that if you have to replace the window, you can replace JUST the plastic window portion. The new plastic window from Honda will have all the foam parts. And just incase you're thinking about doing it yourself, it took professionals HOURS to replace my back window. It seems that you have to remove half the interior to get to all of the top pieces.

So I went out to see what I could do.

I unzipped it, you don't need to replace the foam you just have to be carefull with it. There is velcrow and sticky foam which just kind of goes off and on.

Anyway, I unzipped it but it's a pain in the ass and it doesn't really flip down unless you unzip all the way and I didn't want to do that because it seemed like my zipper was seperating at the bottom, so I stopped. It is cool to know though!

I've never unzipped my window, but from looking at the Helms manual, it doesn't look like replacing is a simple or short process at all.

Anyone unzip their window to fold it back and clean it?
